What is your best article moment of 2009? What article blew you away and was worthy of sharing with all your friends?
Oh, damn. I’m completely stumped on this one. You see, articles and I have a long-standing love/hate relationship. The magazine rack on my bathroom wall is about to collapse under the weight of unread magazines. My Google Reader and Alltop page are overwhelmed. There are so MANY articles out there to read. By other people. The ones that cross my path, at least in non-digital form, are lucky to get a glance on constipated days. More likely, they end up as potential fodder for my 2010 vision board which I will start working on… soon.
To make matters worse, I have no memory retention for anything I read – be it book, article or street sign. Bank statement balances, too, have a way of just flying from my mind.
I rarely pass anything I’ve read onward because that opens me up to recipients’ reciprocal behavior. And that would only INCREASE the number of articles I’d never read.
The above being said, I still loyally subscribe to National Geographic, Time and The Sun. Maybe next year I’ll do more than look at the pretty pictures and dream of far away places.
And yes, I still think of “articles” as hardcopy stories in old school magazines before I consider those found on the Wave.

/ December 3, 2009I’m the same when it comes to retaining information! I kinda hate it, but I just can’t help it. And when it comes to articles I definitely prefer to read hard copies, unless they’re really short. Maybe I’m just a traditionalist.
