What was the best learning experience of 2009? What was a lesson you learned this year that changed you?
One of the most striking lessons I learned this year was that I do NOT have a poker face.
If I am upset, you will know. If I am angry, you will know. If I am frustrated, you will know. In fact, the only time you won’t know what I’m feeling is when I’m simply content, or just listening. Then, the muscles in my head do weird things and I come off looking irritated. All of this is incredibly inconvenient to the work of being an international spy, or a co-worker in a small office. Which means, I am much better off just telling people how I feel rather than walking around holding up a very ineffectual mask. Lesson learned.
