I was struck dumb, in a good way, by Katie Holmes’ photo shoot for the August issue of Vogue Espana. I love how sexy and titillating these images are, and how they allow their subject to shed her girlishness and be all WOMAN.
A number of girlfriends of mine have recently done boudoir shoots. The concept and impetus is the same, in my view – to celebrate female power and beauty. It’s about flirtation and fun, not about the size of one’s butt.
What a great gift it is to embrace and celebrate that naughty and sexy side that so often must remain behind closed doors, or in the closet, or stuffed down so deep in women’s souls that they are afraid to even acknowledge its existence. It’s a gift to ourselves more than to anyone else we permit to see the images.
So, brava to Katie Holmes. And bravo to Tom Munro, the photographer who captured these inspired pictures.
Oh, and yes I WANT THAT EYE MASK!
Would you do a shoot like this if you could?

/ July 26, 2011These are truly stunning photos. I use to love Katie when she was on Dawson’s Creek.
I am going to have to check out more of Tom Munro’s work. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of a great new photographer (to me anyways).
Hope your having a wonderfully creative summer.
Much Love,
Crystal
P.S. I found your site through The August Break 2011! Can’t wait to see your photos in August.
