Pleasure Finds Friday: Bouquet Chair

I woke up this morning knowing I wanted to talk about flowers but, somehow, I mistakenly interpreted that impulse to mean it must be Sunday and I should highlight a Pleasure Bouquet, which is why you got the Fire in the Belly post today instead of Sunday, as should happen when all is right in the world, and I am only now gracing you with my weekly Pleasure Find. Whew! I blame the error on lack of caffeine and an abundance of sunlight. Only after narrowly avoiding a collision with a Coyote this afternoon during my saunter around the lake did it occur to me that today is, indeed, Friday. Why it takes me almost violating a wild canine for my brain to recall the correct day of the week is, truly, a query for a different day. Now, however, I wish to present the flowers I intended you to receive when you got to your computer this morning. Behold, Tokujin Yoshioka’s Bouquet Chair.

This stunning explosion of petals is one of many new projects coming from the Japanese designer’s studio. The chair is available in an array of colors, mimicking the chrysanthemums from which, in my opinion, it so clearly took inspiration. Doesn’t it look like something straight out of a Clive Owen film? So damn sexy – the chair and the man, actually – I could cry. I simply want to lose myself. In the chair. Just, please, remind me not to spill my red wine on it or let my cat near it. But tell Clive he can gift his this baby to me, any time.

What would you do, or not do, with the Bouquet Chair in your home?
