Pleasure Notes

Anyone who is visiting my homepage today will notice a new badge in my sidebar. It’s my oh-so-subtle way of letting everyone know I JUST OPENED UP AN ETSY SHOP! I decided to send this wee announcement out as well, because I’m just so damn excited, and anxious, and a whole gamut of other emotions. Yep, I’m kinda emotional. Shocker, I know. The shop is called Noted Design.

If you feel like moseying on over there, it’ll be like giving me a great big ole smooch and, really, haven’t you been wondering what that would be like? I’m sure it’s been keeping you up at night.

I’m selling handmade jewelry using semiprecious stones and beads and silver and gold and anything else I think is pretty. I’m also doing some hand stamping. I’d love to know what you think of it all!

I’ve only hinted about my intentions to open up the shop a few times, and put it on my list. Why haven’t I regaled you with tales of every step I took to get here? Because I was doubting that I’d actually accomplish the task. I’ve been creating jewelry forever, it seems, and I’ve wanted an Etsy presence since I discovered the site years ago, but fear and doubt have always kept me solidly anchored in inaction. UNTIL NOW.

I have you, my lovely dear readers, and this blog to thank for providing the kick in the butt necessary to see this particular dream become a reality. THANK YOU!

Now, let’s take another moment to let it soak in… I have an Etsy shop, folks. KICK ASS AWESOMENESS, I tell you! Makes me feel like anything is possible. Now if only I could figure out how to bottle that feeling, I’d be golden. But, hey, clearly stranger things have happened…

As you know, last month I participated in Gwen Bell’s Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. It was transformative for me. Little did I know when I began, it also gave me superpowers. Or at least the moniker of SUPERHERO. On day nine, when I wrote about the best challenge of 2009, I won a gift – a superhero necklace, created by Andrea Scher. It arrived a few short days ago.

I’m a sucker for candles, all kinds of candles. Except the super smelly ones. And the ones shaped like cowboy boots or the Statue of Liberty… So, basically, I just like really classy, straightforward, nicely scented candles. But then I found this chalkboard candle, and I think it is fabulous. There are just so many possibilities. I can leave it untouched, in its sleek, matte black state. Or I can decorate it to suit my every whim, using the three sticks of colored chalk that come with it – though the chalk doesn’t come in that nice little box as shown in the photo. Fun, affordable and utilitarian. Kinda hot.

By Design Glut

I’ve been traveling a lot lately, and following a bunch of international news stories. I am invested in creating and maintaining a global view. I don’t know who I would be if not for the experiences I’ve had visiting and living in other countries. I do know that I wouldn’t be me. So it should come as no surprise that I simply adore this necklace, by Design Glut. Sorry, guys, no matching cuff links for you, but think of this around the delicate neck of your lovely lady… See, pleasure for all!

I simply can’t stop giggling. There is nothing really to say. I fucking love this bathtub plug. Love as in I’m tempted to get it for every single one of my friends and family. It is the absolutely perfect stocking stuffer… Look at that! I am so inspired by the damn thing, I’m already ahead on my Christmas shopping. Awesome, I say. Flipping awesome.
